Trigger Point Injections

If you're living with chronic muscle tightness or pain that just won't go away, Trigger Point Injections (TPIs) may offer much-needed relief. At Houston Rheumatology and Arthritis Specialist, we offer this safe, in-office procedure to relieve muscle knots, restore mobility, and improve your quality of life

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS)

is a common condition caused by compression of the median nerve in the wrist. If you're experiencing numbness, tingling, or weakness in your hand and fingers, our in-office steroid injections may help reduce inflammation and relieve pressure on the nerve—without the need for immediate surgery.

Intramuscular Injections

At Houston Rheumatology and Arthritis Specialist, we offer intramuscular (IM) injections as part of a comprehensive treatment plan for patients needing anti-inflammatory support, nutrient supplementation, or targeted pain relief. These injections allow medications or supplements to be absorbed quickly and effectively into the bloodstream.

What are Trigger Points?

Trigger points are tight bands of muscle fibers that can form after injury, overuse, or underlying inflammatory conditions like fibromyalgia or myofascial pain syndrome. These "knots" can be tender to the touch and may radiate pain to other areas.

How Trigger Point Injections Work:
TPIs involve the precise injection of a local anesthetic (and sometimes corticosteroid) directly into the trigger point. The goal is to relax the muscle, reduce inflammation, and disrupt the pain cycle. Relief can be felt within minutes, although a series of treatments may be recommended for long-term results.

Carpal Tunnel Injection

We deliver a corticosteroid injection directly into the carpal tunnel, targeting the source of inflammation to relieve nerve pressure and reduce symptoms such as numbness and tingling in the thumb, index, and middle fingers; nighttime pain; hand weakness or frequent dropping of objects; and discomfort during activities like typing, gripping, or lifting. This nonsurgical, in-office procedure is quick and effective, and in many mild to moderate cases, it can postpone or even eliminate the need for surgery. Carpal tunnel injections are often combined with physical therapy or wrist splinting to enhance outcomes and support long-term relief

Intramuscular Injection

Intramuscular injections offer faster symptom relief compared to oral medications, while also avoiding gastrointestinal irritation. These convenient, quick in-office procedures can play a key role in the long-term management of various chronic conditions. At our clinic, each injection is carefully tailored to your specific needs and diagnosis. Our team ensures a clean, efficient, and comfortable experience, taking the time to answer your questions and guide you through every step of the process.
